LOOP SESSIONS

An evolving collaboration project by Sierra Delaine

Loop Sessions began as a music-forward project, with its first edition released on May 16, 2025, rooted in live looping, improvisation, and play. What started as a personal and collaborative sound practice has continued to grow through experimentation and public engagement.

In January, Loop Sessions expanded into a live, participatory iteration presented at Cleveland Public Theatre’s Soft Launch, where audiences engaged directly with the work in small groups, contributing sounds, words, and melodies to an evolving collective loop.

Following the project’s award from the Ohio Arts Council, Sierra Delaine will continue the next iteration of Loop Sessions by featuring 5 Cleveland-based artists from varying disciplines. This phase will focus on collaboration, documentation, and creative exchange, highlighting some of the city’s most impactful and beloved creatives while deepening Loop Sessions as an evolving platform for community-centered creation.

Matthew (MATT MATT) Raybeam is a Cleveland-born poet, musician, and comedian whose work is rooted in his formal collegiate training in poetry. After years of making noise in the New York City arts scene, he returned home to become a staple of the region's biggest stages, from Pride in the CLE to winning Glenville’s Got Talent. This July, he brings his lyrical depth to Playhouse Square for the BorderLight Theatre Festival with his solo show, Portrait of MATTMATT. Whether through spoken word or song, Matthew’s "conscious" style blends a polished New York edge with the heart of his Ohio roots.

Francia "Freezy Fran" Sweeney is a multidisciplinary artist and community facilitator whose work is a love letter to sustainability, wellness, and Black aesthetics. A prominent figure in Cleveland's Black Arts Showcase, Fran’s influence stretches from her visionary photography and graphic design to her role as the founder of Freezy’s Flea, a premier community clothing swap. Whether she is sharing holistic lifestyle wisdom on TikTok, crafting custom tea blends, or lending her soulful voice to a project, Fran embodies a "wholistic fairy" energy that inspires a deeper connection to the self and the environment.

Diwe Augustin-Glave is a versatile Cleveland-born powerhouse who brings a magnetic, authentic energy to every stage they touch. A standout performer at Cleveland Play House, Dobama Theatre, and Karamu House, Diwe effortlessly pivots between gripping dramatic roles and high-energy comedy with the improv troupe Blk Stream. Whether they are commanding a theater spotlight or fronting their band, Marigold Cove, Diwe stands out as one of the most exciting and essential creative voices in the Northeast Ohio arts community today.
